YOUTH SCHOLARSHIPS

The Board of Directors of Waukesha USBC want to recognize the achievements of youth bowlers in the association. The Board has established policies and procedures to provide awards to youth bowlers who have performed at a high level in a league or tournament within the jurisdiction of the association.

All youth bowlers who are members of the association and are bowling in a youth league or youth tournament certified by the association during the current season are eligible for youth awards from the association. Youth bowlers who meet the criteria for a high game or high series award shall be recognized by the association under this policy. The following high scores shall be recognized by this policy:

a.       300 game
b.       700 series or higher
c.       650 series or higher (girls only)

A youth bowler may receive a scholarship in the amount of $50 in his/her SMART account for his/her high score. A youth bowler may receive one scholarship award for each achievement per season. The scholarship award shall be made for the first achievement during the year in each category.

If the youth bowler bowls a 300 game or 800 series, the youth bowler may choose to receive the $50 scholarship award or reimbursement for the basic cost ($65) of a ring for a 300 game or 800 series. It is the responsibility of the youth bowler to order and pay for their ring from the USBC and/or Keepsake. Upon receipt of proof of purchase of a ring, the association will reimburse the youth bowler $65 for the cost of the ring. The youth bowler can receive a ring reimbursement from the association once during their career.

As with USBC awards, youth bowlers will not receive an award from the association for a high score if the achievement was bowled during a pre or post bowl situation.

Coaches should report a high score to the Association office within 20 days of the competition. Click the link below to get a fillable High Score Application form.
